HP shortly will be making available new configurations options for it’s Pavilion line of entertainment, budget and ultra-portable notebook computers. First we’ll discuss the dm4 which news has already broke on but HP is now offering it’s official plans for. The 14-inch Pavilion dm4 is the big brother to the 13.3-inch HP Pavilion dm3 but with added specifications, battery-life and great starting price. The dm4 will be featuring Intel Core processors, a 14-inch BrightView HD LED-backlit display, discrete ATI graphics, a fingerprint reader, built-in webcam, up to 640GB of HDD storage, an aluminum lid and magnesium alloy chassis and a final weight of just 4.4 pounds.
Now the Pavilion dv5, dv6 and the big dv7 get added color choices and some new AMD Phenom II dual-core and quad-core processors. There isn’t much to say about the inclusion of the AMD Phenom processors because nobody has ever seen them or been able to test performance yet. However the we can talk about the new color choices which include “Black Cherry” (a deep brownish color), “Sonoma Red,” and “Champagne.” The internals for these new Pavilions is getting a really nice bump with ATI Mobility Radeon graphics card with up to 1GB VRAM, up to 2TB of storage and Altec Lansing speakers. Some specialty options for individual laptops in this line include the dv6 which will also come with options for a touchscreen version and the dv7 which will have options HP Triple Bass Subwoofer and the optional Beats Audio technology.
When it comes to the pricing and availability it goes like this the dm4 will be available starting May 19 for the starting price of $730. The dv5, dv6 and the dv7 will have the following starting prices of $650, $700 and $850 and will all also be out on May 19.
