Would A 11.6″ Apple Macbook Air Be A Good Idea For Apple?

Apple has a laptop available in every size except for 10.1″-11.6″. The smallest laptop that Apple currently offers is it’s Macbook Air ultra-portable premium level laptop. The Air according to rumors is set to see an increase in focus from Apple in the near future, with a increase in of the $1,499 ultra-portable laptop.
The rumored increase in shipments imply two things that Apple is planning to announce a price drop and some changes in specifications for the aging ultra-portable. A rumor flying around is a decreasing of the screen size from 13.3″ to 11.6″. That would be a big move on Apple’s part because it would because it would be inching closer and closer to offering a netbook. which would contradict all of the negative talk Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs has been giving the mini-laptops of late.
If Apple does go down a few inches in screen size with their Macbook Air and does knock the price down to something around $700-800 and they also threw in some of the those new Intel Core i ultra-low voltage processors. The company could have a real winner among the people. It’s very evident that ultra-portable laptops are here to stay and with Apple offering there own version they will see success especially if it’s price well under $1000. [Via]
