MSI Announces Two New 17-inch Entertainment Laptops

MSI today announced two new laptop computers. The 17.3-inch MSI FR700 and MSI FX700 don’t have a release date but MSI has been kind enough to release the two notebooks specifications. The FR700 seems to be the lower-end model of the two and will most likely be a good bit cheaper than the FX700 which has discrete Nvidia graphics.
The FR700 and FX700 both come with 17.3″ HD+ LED back-lit (16:9) screens.The two notebooks will both feature 720p HD (30fps) webcams embedded into the top of their large displays. The FR700 and FX700 both weigh roughly 2.8kg’s with the 6-cell Li-Ion battery.
The laptops internally will both come with a Intel Core i5 processor. The FR700 will rely on the Intel HD integrated graphics while the FX700 is supplied with the Nvidia GeForce GT 425M 1GB dedicated graphics card. Both entertainment laptops will be able to hold up to 8GB of DDR3-1066MHz RAM and have up to a 640GB hard drive.
The laptops will even have the same 4 channel speakers with Sound by Dynaudio and THX TruStudio Pro all built-in to provide you with high quality sound for Movies, Music and Games. Other technology included in the notebooks intended to boost performance include the following; for the FR700 – TDE (Turbo Drive Engine), Cinema Pro , Anti-Fingerprint, Color-Film-Print and for the FX700 – TDE (Turbo Drive Engine), GPU Boost, Cinema Pro.
On a more traditional note both the FR700 and FX700 feature Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, two USB 3.0 ports, a 6-cell battery, and run Windows 7 Home Premium. With all of that said MSI has neglected to announce pricing for the notebooks. [Via]
