New HP Pavilion dv6t (15.6″) and dv7t (17.3″ ) Quad Edition entertainment/multimedia class laptops are now available with upgraded internal components. The two laptops now feature second generation Intel Core i7 processors (Sandy Bridge) and AMD Radeon HD 6000M series discrete graphics.
HP has given the two notebooks three Core i7 quad core processors to choose from when customizing. The Intel Core i7-2630QM @ 2.0GHz, Intel Core i7-2720QM @ 2.2GHz and Intel Core i7-2820QM @ 2.3GHz. All three processor options offer 4 processing cores and 8 threads, either processor choice offers phenomenal performance for mobile chips (in benchmarks all three can out do many desktop quad core processors).
As for the graphics HP offers one graphics standard on both models, AMD Mobility Radeon HD 6570 discrete graphics. The 6570 has 1GB of dedicated GDDR5 video RAM (very good) and the card has support for DirectX 11 and Shader Model 5.0. With the 6570 inside either notebook you will be able to playback Full HD 1080p Blu-Ray video (w/ optional Blu-ray drive) as well as play action packed 3D games like Battlefield Bad Company 2 on medium to high detail settings.
The HP Pavilion dv6t starts at $999.99 and the HP Pavilion dv7t starts at $1,099.99.
