Another day another new laptop with the now famous Intel Sandy Bridge line of central processing units (CPU) inside of them. Todays new models come via ASUSTek or ASUS as they are most commonly known.
ASUS has already announced quite a few laptops with support for the latest Intel processors but today the Taiwanese notebook manufacturer has unveiled two more models.
The first laptop is the ASUS U43SD (product page), a 14-inch new member of the Bamboo series of notebooks from ASUS –which feature real Bamboo in the designs. The U43SD offers up two dual-core options from the 2nd. generation Intel Core processors, the 2.10 GHz Intel Core i3-2310M and the 2.30 GHz Intel Core i5-2410M.
The second laptop is the ASUS U41SV (product page), a 14-inch sleek member of the U41 Series of ASUS laptops. For Sandy Bridge processor options this model offers up the same two dual-core choices as the U43SD, a 2.10 GHz Intel Core i3-2310M and the 2.30 GHz Intel Core i5-2410M.
Both notebooks offer other features than just the latest gen. Core i3 and Core i5 processors from Intel. ASUS has also given each laptop optional access to USB 3.0 super speedy connector ports, which offer up to 10x the performance over previous USB connector standards.
Also there are Nvidia GeForce discrete graphics solutions inside both the U43DS and U41SV, the NVIDIA GeForce GT 520M with 1GB DDR3 VRAM for the former and NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M with 1GB DDR3 VRAM for the latter.
At this juncture you’d usually get some pricing information and launch dates but ASUS hasn’t provided that info for either on their official product pages, as per usual for ASUS. However what will most likely happen is an online retail partner for ASUS will post up these two models for pre-order with ship dates and prices soon. If that scenario occurs I will let you know and that same assurance goes if ASUS were to announce first.
