Ever have your laptop drop on you when you were moving about town? Remember the damage the body of your laptop and internal components suffered from that one drop? Well such a happening could soon be removed from the frame of possibility with the G-Form Extreme Sleeve for laptops.
In the demo you are about to watch a working Apple Macbook Pro, a $1000+ laptop computer made by Apple Inc., is dropped with the G-Form Extreme Sleeve as the only form of protection. Keep in mind that the G-Form Extreme Sleeve looks like it is rough to the touch but it is actually soft and easily squeezable in the hand.
The Extreme Sleeve according to G-Form will go on sale on May 31st, 2011 for the retail price of $69.95 on their website. The protective sleeve is up for pre-order now with the option for a 11-inch, 13-inch and 15-inch case size.
In the video the Macbook Pro laptop fared well in the drop situation but some critiques for the demo are still available, two to be precise.
One, the laptop wasn’t dropped on its corner or side and seeing as your laptop is very much likely to land on its corners and side in the event of a drop that would be an important demo to show.
Two, the demo doesn’t state if the laptop had an SSD powering everything or an HDD, the difference between SSD is there are no moving parts and will most likely never fail if dropped from any height but if an HDD is dropped from just 3 feet it could break with ease.
