Dell proved they could design a laptop that’s all aluminum a few weeks ago with the Dell XPS 15z. On Thursday the Dallas based computer maker unveiled two new Z line laptops that push aluminium but in a design that’s affordable for the everyday consumer.
The Dell Inspiron 13z and Dell Inspiron 14z don’t start at the big $999 that the 15.6-inch Dell XPS 15z currently starts at, but the two new notebooks do offer all the other main elements of the 15z. The 13z and 14z are described as offering less than 1-inch profiles, long battery life, and of course sleek aluminum designs. The 13z is the smallest of the two, with it’s 13.3-inch LED screen, but it’s not clear if it will be cheaper than the 14.0-inch LED 14z which starts at $599.99.
According to Dell the 14z is the only model available for immediate order in the U.S. and most of the world, fans of the 13-inch form factor will need to wait for an unspecified amount of time if they want the 13z in areas outside of “select Asian countries”. Even though the 14z is the only model with a product page the 13z’s main details have also been unveiled today by Dell.
The Dell Inspiron 13z offers the following main features:
