Gigabyte unveils their new notebook-tablet-desktop computer, the Booktop T1132N

Today the Gigabyte computer company has revealed the new and improved Gigabyte Booktop T1132N hybrid computer. The new Booktop T1132N with it’s custom docking station is capable of working as a notebook, tablet PC and a desktop computer –the different modes are illustrated below.
The new Booktop computer comes equipped with an 11.6-inch HD (1366 x 768) LED back-lit capacitive multi-touch display that is similar to other Booktop computers like the Gigabyte Booktop T1125P. The touchscreen for previous generation Booktop T series hybrids have been rated as being adequate (although Windows hasn’t been seen as the best OS for touch, maybe Windows 8 will be able to change that next year), so in reality the touchscreen on the new Booktop T1132N should be as good.
As a notebook, tablet PC and desktop the new Gigabyte Booktop T1132N is equipped with a lot of the latest in laptop computing hardware. The computer is powered by a 1.6 GHz Intel Core i5 2nd gen. dual-core processor and the systems graphics power come from the integrated Intel HD Graphics 3000 and discrete Nvidia GeForce GT520M 1GB GPU which supports Nvidia Optimus Technology (graphics switching technology that can lead to improved battery life).

Gigabyte has been producing these hybrid computers for a couple of years now, but you’ve probably never head of the Booktop series if you’re in the Western hemisphere (Best Buy and other major retailers don’t stock them, normally). Gigabyte is big in Asia and other parts of the world, though, and the Booktop series has been a successful one otherwise Gigabyte wouldn’t have four T Series hybrids counting the new T1132N that can be docked in their own desktop docks.
However getting back on track with the new Booktop T1132N computer you can expect to see it available for purchase at retailers (mostly online shops like ExcaliberPC.com or Amazon.com) soon. However that’s all we know at this time about availability, pricing and precise launch dates are a mystery.
There is a contests that can help you win a free Gigabyte Booktop T1132N, though.
Like many companies today Gigabyte is making their presence known on social network Facebook, just for the new Gigabyte Booktop T1132N hybrid the computer maker is holding a giveaway contest on their custom Facebook page.
How do you get win the T1132N? Well like all Facebook contests Gigabyte requires you become their fan and like their “GIGABYTE NB” Facebook page first before you’re even in the running, but for this particular contest you’ll also need to fill out a small survey that’s located on the Facebook page before you are officially entered in the contest. According to Gigabyte their contest for a free Booktop T1132N computer will run from today through Tuesday, December 20th, 2011 based on Taiwan time. There doesn’t appear to be an age restriction for this contest.
At the time of this posting the “GIGABYTE NB” Facebook page had 1,968 Likes from Facebook members, you’ll have to calculate your own odds once you enter the contest.
