Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 ban lifted in Australia, just in time for the holidays

Fresh reports from Australia show that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will finally be available for legal purchase in Australia starting on December 2, 2011 at 4pm local time. According to The Sydney Morning Herald a total of three Federal Court Justices in Sydney, Australia have overturned a month old injunction placed on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in lieu of a major patent law suit by Apple, the initial injunction ruling came at the behest of only one Federal Court Justice.
This new turn of events in Samsung’s favor come after the Taiwanese tech companies legal team publicly blasted the Federal Court Justice that granted the initial injunction by calling her ruling “grossly unjust” and the legal team also claimed her ruling was based purely on ”misunderstood and misapplied” basic requirements of the law and elements of her reasoning. Needless to say this patent case is turning into quite the drama.
Apple Inc. and its legal team in Australia aren’t backing down an inch, they’ve already petitioned and been granted a temporary stay on this new ruling so they can reassess their case. The stay on the ruling is the reason the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 isn’t available for legal purchase today and you must wait until Friday at 4pm to purchase it.
More developments are sure to come over the next few days, I’m staying tuned.
