Fantasy: Retina Apple Macbook Pro laptops coming next year, report claims

Apple Macbook Pro laptops 2011 openDo you believe in Unicorns? Well if so then you shouldn’t have too much trouble believing the latest Apple related rumor. According to DigiTimes sources in the “upstream supply chain” Apple is going to update their Macbook Pro laptops next year and add 2800-by-1800 resolution displays.

With that jump in resolution Apple will be not only introducing a brand new resolution for laptops, but they will further differentiate their premium Macbook Pro notebooks (that aren’t cheap) from the growing number of high-end Windows notebooks. However according to the same supply chain sources Apple competitors Acer and Asus are readying 1920-by-1080 equipped Ultrabook notebooks for 2012 to fight Apple’s rumored high-resolution Macbook Pros.

Is rumor believable? I don’t take any rumor related to Apple to seriously if it’s not backed up by photo/video evidence, but even for this particular story I don’t think any type of photo/video evidence would be able to convince me of its validity. The highest resolution display that Apple offers for their Macbook Pro notebooks is 1680-by-1050 for the 17-inch Macbook Pro, going up to 2800-by-1800 would mean an increase of 285% for total pixels.

Around the web folks are referring to the proposed 2,800-by-1,800 resolution displays as Retina Displays. If you’re not familiar with what a Retina Display is they’re basically displays with high pixel-per-inch counts, the term was coined with the 2010 release of the iPhone 4 smartphone which sported a 3.5-inch 960-by-640 resolution display that scored 326 pixels per inch (ppi).

Apple Retina Display marketing promoCurrently Apple offers Macbook Pro notebooks with integrated only and dedicated AMD Radeon HD graphics, if Apple is to make a smooth transition to 2800-by-1800 they’ll need to get dedicated GPUs into every Macbook Pro. Intel’s integrated solution that powers the lowest-end Macbook Pro (the 13-inch model) can handle the 1280-by-800 resolution it has to push out now, but for the future I think Apple would do their users more justice by outfitting all Macbook Pro notebooks with dedicated GPUs.

At this time Apple’s competitors are able to include pretty powerful dedicated graphics solutions to their notebooks that match or even beat the cheapest Macbook Pro (starts at $1,199 USD) on price.

First of all your such a jackass on writing this article, Yeah I said it! Second I am 100 percent sure you have never owned a macbook, or any apple product besides an ipod, ipod shuffle, etc. Either you think it’s a waste of money as you put it in your own words or you think windows is flawless. Don’t talk shit about things you don’t understand and can’t comprehend why the market keeps pushing in apple’s favor. And Third why Are you even responding to a rumor, Dude seriously! Do you not take your job seriously???? Or whatever you call what you do? Lets be honest, There is NOOOO WAY IN HELL anyone will make a laptop or netbook with that many pixels and you said it yourself switching a little off the topic about how their best model is “their Macbook Pro notebooks is 1680-by-1050 for the 17-inch Macbook Pro “. So are you really suggesting that all Apple Macbook Pro’s will have a 2800 by 1800 display??? As you said ” Apple is to make a smooth transition to 2800-by-1800 they’ll need to get dedicated GPUs into every Macbook Pro.” STUPIDITY!!!! Really I just cant and wont ever understand someone who’[s Mentality is that of a 8th grader, You just dont understand what drives apple or their products! Im sorry but really man, Did you proof read this before you submitted it and say to yourself maybe i should do some more research or ask someone who has inside information on apples new macbook pro’s?????? And finally You know those 27 Inch displays that apple sells? That can work either as a main display for your mac pro or for a macbook pro, or a mac mini???? Well the resolution on those ” HUGE” 27′s are 2560-by-1440. So think about it…. for once logically? How in the hell could anyone fill a 13 inch screen with that many pixels (2800 by 1800) Maybe and I mean Maybe like a 10 percent chance they might have found some sort of way for the new 17 inch macbook pro’s but more likely for their displays. Like I said before, You obviously do not like apples laptop’s nor like the idea of them existing and striving to create the BEST MOST POWERFUL MACHINES ON THE PLANET, Tech so advanced that it makes windows PC’s and their OS’s so frightened that they crash, I really don’t see how someone including my past self can’t or won’t even dare to look or consider purchase one, Then I was convinced to just buy one and give it a try. Then I understood how elegant the code was written in, And understood how simple it was, I tried so many times to get it to crash or somehow break it down but guess what??? It wouldn’t budge, I once had 20 programs running on a 13 inch and sure it got UP TO AROUND 160 .F BUT IT would not crash, Just kept going. Apple has given the world so much, including it’s Master/Mentor Steve Jobs. Think about when the Ipod came out, Sure mp3 players were out there but the tech and simpleness of the Ipod just was so easy and wasn’t as counter productive as other mp3 players, Very simple and easy to use, and the sound quality was just simply amazing. Anyways in short the same applies to the macbook. If gaming is your reason ever heard of a program called steam??? And if that isn’t and you love windows and won’t give anything else a chance then its fine. But in short all apples computers run smooth not slow nor crumpling, Not virus prone and they are so fast and simple to use. Just a powerhouse!!!! And if your reason is ” Oh well for 1600 dollars i could get an xps or an alien ware laptop then you are mistaken! All there computers are more if not way more powerful then your xps or alien wares combined, You want to know why that is??? Because of the OS, It doesnt have to run all the lines of code nor has to process nearly as much info as windows pc’s do, Therefore it runs and preforms faster? Way faster! Don’t believe me then go check one out at your local bestbuy or apple certified store. Or just man up and go into an apple store even if its 100 miles away like mine is. But hey what do I know right?? I have only owned 2 XPS’s 17 and a 15 and a 17 and a 15 alienware laptops, then i realized i was buying a new computer all the time like every year because it kept going out of date, Mac’s do not do that, Plus THEY HOLD THEIR VALUE Like a Honda or Toyota. Not trying to make you feel like an idiot but what you had to say was just plan stupid

    See ya,
    Brett
