Re-designed HP Envy 14 laptop could be on the horizon

Recently HP revealed their new re-designed Envy brand laptops. HP improved the overall look of the Envy laptop with their re-design. However something was missing from the announcement, the HP Envy 14 wasn’t a part of the re-design. HP didn’t even mention the HP Envy 14 laptop when they were introducing their new HP Envy 15, 17 and 17 3D laptops.
Currently on HP.com the Envy 14 is offered with the standard Silver design (the old Envy design that the Envy 15 and 17 ditched) or a Black Dr.Dre Beats Edition. Specifications wise the Envy 14 laptops that HP sells on their website are relatively up to date as they offer the latatest 2nd gen. Intel processors and AMD Radeon HD 6000 series discrete mobile graphics. HP is also not offering any discounts for the current HP Envy 14 models on their online store.
Now I mention the pricing and features aspect to say that HP isn’t showing any signs that they’re trying to make way for a new Envy 14 laptop. However the company could be decieving us, because they have recently sent a new Envy 14 laptop to the FCC for certification.
The folks at Wireless Goodness spotted the new HP Envy 14 on the FCC.gov website. According to Wireless Goodness the HP Envy 14 that paid a visit to the FCC testing labs featured dual-band Wireless-N support, a new feature for the Envy 14. In the FCC .PDF’s the Envy 14 tested is named as “HP ENVY 14 Spectre” for an official marketing name, HP has never announced a laptop with the Spectre market name.
The FCC at times take photos of the actual product for their final report, but they didn’t for the HP Envy 14 Spectre laptop. All we have is a sketch of the bottom of the notebook that shows where the FCC label will eventually be located, check out that image below.
