Lenovo reveals their latest mobile computing tool, the IdeaPad S110 mini notebook

Wouldn’t you like a speedy go anywhere do anything portable laptop? Of course you would. A new Lenovo notebook promises flexibility, portability, speed at an affordable price.
The Lenovo IdeaPad S110 might come with a 10.1″ screen but it’s not a netbook, it’s a mini notebook according to Lenovo. The S110 doesn’t come with the WSVGA resolution that most netbooks have, the mini notebook will have an HD resolution display. As for its size the S110 will be about the same size as your average 10.1″ netbook, the S110 weights a reported 1.16kg. and measures 16mm thick.
We’ve established the S110 is portable and has an HD screen but what about the OS? Lenovo is going to offer Windows 7 with the S110, but for speedy access to the Internet Lenovo will be bundling an instant-on OS that doesn’t require doing a full boot into Windows.
Lenovo’s instant-on OS is a re-branded and re-styled version of Splashtop, and it’s named Lenovo Quick Start. With Lenovo Quick Start you can get quick access to an OS that allows you to browse the internet, watch Flash video such as YouTube, listen to music files on your computers hard drive, browse photos that are also on your computers hard drive, and chat with contacts with an instant messenger, VOIP or Skype.
However getting back to the hardware specifications for the Lenovo IdeaPad S110. The new mini notebook will feature Intel Atom Cedar Trail processors and integrated graphics, 1GB of RAM, 320GB hard drive, a 98% full-size chiclet keyboard with AccuType keys (rounded), USB 3.0 and HDMI ports, optional 2MP webcam for HD video calling, and for online access Wi-Fi comes standard but 3G mobile broadband is optional.
Netbooks that Lenovo has launched in the past have come in various colors, and I’m happy to say the IdeaPad S110 will as come with the choice of either Black, Blue, Red and White colors.
Right now online retailer Provantage is listing the new Lenovo IdeaPad S110 for pre-order at $321.62. The S110 listed on retailer Provantage’s website features 1GB RAM, a 320GB HDD and the 1.60 GHz Intel Atom N2600 dual-core processor which includes the Intel GMA 3600 IGP (integrated graphics).
