Acer Aspire One netbook lidIn the near future you will be able to purchase a new Acer netbook that packs Intel’s recently launched Cedar Trail Atom processing chips.

The Acer Aspire One D270 netbook made it’s first online appearance earlier yesterday in the form of a shop listings that offered a rough overview of the netbooks hardware specifications, one of the specifications that got revealed for the D270 was the 1.6 GHz Intel Atom N2600 dual-core processing chip from the new Cedar Trail family of Atom processors.

The new N2600 promises improvements not only in central processing performance but in graphics processing performance. The Intel Atom N2600 comes bundled with the Intel GMA 3600 integrated GPU which is more capable than any other GMA graphics chip included in Intel Atom processors before the Cedar Trail N2600. However the N2600 and it’s Intel GMA 3600 IGP aren’t the best that Intel has to offer for the netbook, there is a 1.86 GHz Intel Atom N2800 that comes with a faster Intel GMA 3650 IGP.

Acer’s new Aspire One D270 netbook wasn’t photographed earlier today, so there is no telling what the styling might be like. In recent efforts Acer has shown a real partiality for their water-drop lid design and a good mixture of loud, bright colors as well as more tame colors like solid Black.

If you’re concerned about price the new D270 has already made a debut on a retailer website (Adorama) with a $279.99 price tag. For that $279.99 you’re supposed to get the D270 in Blue with the N2600, 1GB of DDR3 RAM, a 320GB HDD, Windows 7 Starter Edition, Wi-Fi (Wireless), and a 6-cell battery. Some listings for European stores show that Acer intends to sell the same general configuration that was just described but with some models offering 3-cell batteries instead of 6-cell batteries.

–If you want all day computing the 6-cell models will be the right choice for you, even though they’re a bit more expensive than the 3-cell models.–

Right now there is no precise ETA available for the new Aspire One D270 netbooks, but for Adorama orders the new netbook appears to have a ship date of January 2012.
